Colton Dale is here

Introducing Colton Dale. He was born December 5 at 7:23pm. He weighed 7lbs 14oz and was 21.5 in long. I started having contractions at 8:30 Friday morning, but they weren't anything consistent or painful. I had an appointment at 12:30 and was 4-5 cm so they sent me to the hospital. We got the boys all settled with friends and headed over. I was admitted at 1pm and he was born at 7:23. It was my longest and most painful labor yet, but he was worth it. I am doing pretty good. Still sore and tired, but getting along.

Nothing much going on here. Just waiting. I am hoping he will be here tomorrow, but you never know with these things. I am feeling really uncomfortable and am ready to be done. It is still a surreal feeling that he will be here soon. I know that we have everything ready, but it just doesn't feel real. I'm sure it will feel very real when that first contraction hits~ They say that you don't remember the pain, but I do. Probably not the full extent of it, but still remember what it was like.

I am so looking forward to meeting this little guy. I want to know what he looks like, what his personality is like and how his brothers are going to react to him. There are just so many unknowns it is kind of scary. I know everything will work out, just have to get him here. I have an appointment for an ultrasound, NST (non stress test), and a midwife appointment. I am hoping that she will help me along some and I will go into labor tomorrow afternoon. We'll see though.

If I don't post for a few days then you'll know what happened!

If you ever wanted to know...

what 56 dozen cookies looks like here ya go.

I spent most of the day Saturday and Sunday baking cookies for hubby to take to work. Usually I do it around Christmas, but with the little guy coming I figured I would do it now. Plus they have been really good about this whole deal with his messed up school schedule. There are sugar cookies, ricotta cheese, chocolate chip, Andes mint, oatmeal raisin, and chocolate cherry.

And here is a pic of the 9 month pregnant belly that kept getting in the way. I have been horrible about taking pictures this time around. This is actually the only one I have. I can't believe that I am due in less than a week. I am thinking I will go at least a few days late, but you never know.

Life has gotten in the way of writing out blog posts. I swear that I have all these ideas and thoughts I want to write about, but I just don't have the time.

Cooper and I were sick all weekend. I missed a friend's baby shower because of it which sucks. Jeremy's schedule is still all messed up. Hopefully we will know something tonight, but who knows. I have hit the miserable part of pregnancy. I am sore all the time and can't sleep. This little nameless guy has to stay put for a few more weeks, but I am so done being pregnant.

I have started nesting some just hard to do when you have no energy. We did get the freezer restocked with hopefully enough stuff to get us through the end of the year. We found this little meat place not far from the house that has awesome prices and quality. We ended up buying 65 pounds of various stuff for $170. I spent most of the afternoon yesterday weighing it out and freezer packing. I still have to get a few baskets for the deep freeze to keep in organized, but at least it is all in there. Next on my list is to do some baking for the freezer.

I am stressing out about not having a name for the baby, not having everything done, and worrying about what to do with the kids when I am in labor. My MIL will be coming out, but not until I am in labor and if this one goes like the last two I will probably only be in labor about 2 hours. They live 3 hours away on a good day.

Yeah, I am stressing.

Boring

It has been boringly busy around here lately. Just the same old, same old.

Cody is loving school. I can see where we may have a few problems in the future, but I am grateful that he likes going every day.

Cooper is being Cooper. There is no other way to describe it. He has a very unique personality. Jeremy has been on vacation the past week so he has gotten the full on Cooper effect. It is hilarious to see those two interact.

I am just pushing through this pregnancy. It has been rough on me for some reason. I feel huge, tired, and miserable.

We have a very busy few days coming up. Cody had his first swim lessons today which he loved, tomorrow Jeremy has a dentist appointment and open house is tomorrow, Thursday is groceries, Friday is Cooper's swim lessons and setting up the yard sale, Saturday and Sunday are the yard sale (assuming it doesn't rain again), Monday is Jeremy's championship softball game and BBQ, Tuesday is swim lessons, and Wednesday is my doctors appointment along with the stupid glucose test again.

I will be ready to crash on Thursday!

I am still working away on basting the quilt. I think I am going to like this new technique, but I have to start the quilting in order to figure out if it is going to work out. Hopefully if my pregnant body holds up I will know by the end of the week.

Appointment update

I had my 24 (25) week appointment yesterday and I am happy to report that everything is going good.

I only gained 2 pounds which puts me at a total of 12 pounds. Way better than with either of my other pregnancies. He is measuring right on target and his heartbeat was 159. I also got the results of my diabetes test which even the midwife thought it was stupid that I had to have an early one. I have to have the second one in September which is annoying, but at least it will be the last time.

This midwife was awesome. She answered all my questions without making me feeling like an idiot. She gave me some suggestions for the pelvic pain I've been having. Now all I have to do is fill out the preregistration paperwork for the hospital and schedule the tour. I figure it is a good idea to know where we are going especially on how fast this guy comes.

Crazy kids

There isn't too much to write about. I've been feeling kind of icky the past few days. Nothing too bad, just kind of icky. I have a doctors appointment today so we'll see how this little guy is doing.

We are headed out to the state fair this weekend. It should be interesting with the boys. Sadly it is supposed to be hot which doesn't make me too happy. Oh well, at least I'll have the hubby and the in laws to help out.

Since there isn't too much going on around here I'll leave you with some pictures of my crazy kids. This is what happens when they want their picture taken right after waking up.

Life out of control

Life has gotten somewhat out of control around here.

Cody has just a mere 3 weeks until Kindergarten. It has been rough on me to think about my baby going to school. Plus I am still wondering if I am doing the right thing by sending him this year. I know that he is excited and probably ready, but he is so small and just doesn't seem academically ready yet.

Cooper has been a terror lately. He is always getting into trouble, not listening, saying that he is peeing all over everything, and just being a wild child. I know that a lot of it is just part of the age, but it really wearing on me.

This pregnancy has been really hard on me. I haven't been able to sleep much at all lately. I go to bed at 10-11 and then back awake at 12:30. I usually am up until around 5 and then I try to squeeze in some sleep between Jeremy's alarm, him getting ready for work, and the kids waking up. It is killing me to feel so tired all the time. I know that things are only going to get worse. I love this little guy, but some days I wonder what I was thinking about having another one.

My house looks like a tornado ran through it. It not only needs the general cleaning, but it needs a really deep cleaning. I just do not have the time or energy to do it. There are so many projects around this house that need to get done. I honestly don't know how everything is going to get done.

I was supposed to go to a quilting class this weekend, but I think I am going to cancel and stay home instead. I am just not up to sitting through a two hour class right now. I would love to take it, but I just kept up the energy to do it.

Hopefully things will start looking up soon. If we could get more than a few minutes of sunshine a day that would help too. I swear that we moved to rain forest country and no one told us. It is crazy!

There are days that I wonder what else can happen during this pregnancy. I am pretty sure that I either really jammed my toe or broke it last night. I was walking around our bed and slammed my toe into the corner. It is swelled a little and black and blue tonight.

It made doing all my errands a little more painful today. I'm hoping it is better soon because I really don't want to walk around the amusement park with an injured toe.

Nothing much else is happening here. I haven't spent much time sewing because of trying to get stuff together to go. Plus hubby has been working a lot of hours this week. I made chocolate chip cookies to take to work tonight because they have been working so many extra hours I figured they needed a little treat.

I also plan on making monkey bread for breakfast tomorrow morning. Definitely not healthy, but oh so yummy. There are lots of different ways to make it, but here is how I do it.

Monkey Bread

1 cup sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
4 cans Pillsbury refrigerated biscuits (they usually come in a four pack)
1.5 cups brown sugar
1 cup butter, melted

Combine sugar and cinnamon in a plastic bag. Cut biscuits into quarters and place in bag. Shake to coat.

Place biscuit pieces into a bundt pan. Combine brown sugar and butter. Pour over biscuits.

Bake in a 350 degree oven for about 28-32 minutes or until golden brown and not gooey. Cool for 5-10 minutes in pan. Invert pan on to plate. Pull apart and enjoy!!

Pregnancy insomnia sucks! I have slept about 5 hours in 3 days. I am exhausted. I keep thinking I will be able to sleep and then I toss and turn for hours on end.

Since there is nothing else going on here. I will leave you with some pictures of my crazy kids.

Nesting..

I think nesting is starting to kick in. I have been more productive in the past few days then I was the first 20 weeks of pregnancy!

Hubby painted the boys room today. It looks really good. I'm hoping we don't have to do a second coat, just some touch ups, but we will see.

I finished sorting through their toys. Just have to have some help moving stuff around and find a place to put the toys that are going out. I finally decided that we need to rotate their toys around. We took all their toys away about two weeks ago and for the most part they haven't missed most of them. I separated them into stuff to go in their room, stuff to go downstairs, stuff to put away, stuff for the yard sale, and then garbage.

I also finished all six pumpkin rolls for him to take tomorrow. I just have to cut them up after they set up in the fridge overnight.

And finally I did get a few minutes to sew. I finished up six blocks for the Christmas quilt. They are turning out really nice. I am also thinking about working on my mom's present tonight, but not sure yet. We wouldn't want to be too productive in one day!

My sewing room is almost ready for use! All I have left to do is sweep out the room and pick up all the junk on the floor. I am so ready to get back to quilting. There are so many projects in the waiting that I have to get working on. Plus all the projects that I have in varying stages. I want to get as much done as possible because soon it won't be comfortable to sit behind the machine!

It has rained here all day today. I swear that we need to start building a boat. My poor garden is taking a beating. I keep hoping that it will survive, but after today I'm not so sure.

Nothing much else going on. I am working on a paper chain for the kids to countdown to baby. They aren't quite understanding how this is going to work. Coop keeps coming up to me asking to see the baby. They loved watching the ultrasound, but I think they don't understand that you just can't see it whenever they want. The baby is moving around a lot now so I am hoping they will be able to feel it soon and maybe understand a little bit better.

Thank you everyone for a comments on my last post. Sorry it was such a short post, but we had to run to a softball game. I am really happy about having another boy, just a little shocked. I am really excited about watching them grow up together.

Here are some of the pics from the ultrasound. The first one he was kicking himself in the head.

Here is one of his profile, like he is looking at his feet.

Not too much else going on here. I got sunburned today while we were at a pool party. So not comfortable. Luckily we have no plans for tomorrow so I can rest and get better before Monday's game.

We are having a boy.

I am still trying to digest the news since everyone was convinced we were having a girl.

Sorry I've been gone for so long again. Life has been too crazy and busy to have even a few spare seconds to think lately.

The pregnancy is going all right. I'm still sick quite a bit, but I've been ok. It is hotter than Hades here so that hasn't helped any. Jeremy had back to back softball games yesterday and that sucked. Especially since they lost both of them. The first one was close, but the second team they played was a bunch of idiots and creamed them. Hopefully we don't have to play that team again for awhile.

My parents came to visit for my birthday last week. It was really nice to see them again and spend some time with them. We went out for my birthday and I got some money and Jeremy bought me a new computer game. The boys got me bath salts and the promise of a quiet bath. We'll see if that ever happens!

We were supposed to have a yard sale last weekend, but we ended up cancelling because of weather and not having any help. Jeremy's parents were supposed to come out, but my MIL's sister ended up having surgery.

It is going to be really hot here this week so I doubt much will get done around here. We've cleaned out the utility room to start drywalling soon. I have the fabric for my next quilt so hopefully I will get to start working on it soon. At least it is nice and cool in my sewing room!

Life has gotten ahead of me the past few weeks. Between morning sickness, kid stuff, house stuff, husband stuff, and just stuff I haven't had the time or energy to sit down and post.

The morning sickness is getting a little bit better. I still have my bad days, but at least there are a few semi good days in between. I am 12 weeks today so I am hoping that all the bad days will be gone soon. I love the baby, but it better be the best behaved kid when it comes out because it has kicked my butt so far.

The kids have been terrors the past few days. The weather has been cruddy here lately. It has been cold and rainy and not playing outside weather. Trying to keep these two entertained while you are lying on the couch trying not to throw up isn't an easy task.

We are in the process of getting ready for a yard sale. It is a pain the butt. I love the idea of getting rid of some stuff and getting some money, but it is way too much work. And on top of that we are cleaning out our storage room so that we can drywall it in a few weeks. Oh yeah my house looks like a tornado ran through it. There are boxes and piles everywhere. Add that to the fact that I've been too sick to keep up on most of the housework and it is a pretty sad situation. Both the parents are coming out the first week of June so I have about two weeks to get everything back into shape. Wish me luck!

Jeremy's soft ball league has started and they are picking up right where they were last season...losing! They try so hard, but they just can't do it. They have fun though which is all that matters. The kids love going to play there and it is a nice distraction to everything going on.

I haven't had any chance to work on crafting lately. The weird new header is a picture of my grandma's mother's day present. I have to figure out how to get it to fit right. Just haven't felt like sitting down and figuring it out. I have the pattern all figured out for a christmas present quilt. Just have to figure out how much fabric and then get my sewing room back together to work on it.

That is all that has been going on in our little world. I am going to go get a piece of yummy raspberry pie and veg in front of the TV!

Wednesday, April 30, 2008

Sorry I've been MIA for awhile, but this morning sickness stuff is kicking my butt! It has been rough trying to keep up with the boys and all the stuff around the house. Luckily Jeremy is awesome and has been picking up the slack as much as his schedule allows.

Because of this crudiness not much has been happening here. I did finish my grandma's mother's day project. Just have to get it matted. I'm hoping to do that tomorrow so maybe I'll have pics soon. I also did some retail therapy for shoes and spent way too much. Luckily I should be all set for summer and now I can throw out some of those nasty ones I've had for awhile.

My pregnancy baking thing is starting to kick in so the kids and I are making ricotta cheese cookies today. They are so yummy and great because I don't have to worry about Cooper eating them. If you decide to give them a try just know that they make a ton of cookies. Around 6 doz normal sized or about 7-8 doz smaller sized ones. We'll keep some here and then ship the rest off with Jeremy to work.

Ricotta Cheese Cookies

Ingredients:
1 C soft butter
2 C sugar
3 eggs
1 15 oz Ricotta cheese
2 tsp vanilla
4 C flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp soda

Sorry I haven't updated in awhile, but I was away celebrating my mom's birthday.

I'm back now and can finally post about the news I hinted at during my last post.

I found out last week that we are expecting baby #3. I am due sometime in early December. I'm excited, though a little nervous. I've been pretty cruddy feeling so far which isn't abnormal for me.

Sadly this means my crafting will be ignored until I am back on my feet and feeling "normal" again. I do have a few small projects I will be working on, but sitting at my sewing machine is out for awhile. On the up side this gives me more time to work on new designs and ideas.

My posting will probably be sporadic for the next few weeks as I survive the morning sickness. I will be back on a regular basis once things get all settled out.
